Children playing catch discover a badly beaten Miriam crawling out of the woods. Learning that her husband is having an affair with Gersten Hayward, Becky steals her mother’s car, drives to the woman’s apartment and shoots a gun at her door - but Steven and Gersten Hayward are hiding in a stairwell. In Buckhorn, South Dakota, Bill Hayward leads FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole and his team to the house where he and Ruth met Major Briggs. Gordon sees a vortex in the sky and a vision of a room containing Woodsmen, before he is pulled back to safety by Albert. While the agents find Ruth’s headless body and note some coordinates written on the arm, a Woodsman sneaks to Detective Madeley’s car and gruesomely murders Hastings. Shelly and Bobby question their daughter over her recent actions, but Becky is in denial over Steven again. After Shelly leaves to share a kiss with Red outside, a child in a nearby car fires his father’s gun, shattering a diner window. Billy deals with the ensuing commotion and a very irate driver. Sherriff Truman and Deputy Hawk use an old Native American map to locate Major Brigg’s coordinates, which relate to a black fire and a glyph. The Log Lady calls Hawk with a warning: "There's fire where you are going”. Gordon, Albert and Diane learn that the numbers on Ruth’s arm are coordinates to a small town in the north. At the ‘Lucky 7 Casino’, Bushnell Mullins gives ‘Dougie’ a cheque for $30 million to deliver to the Mitchum Brothers, having realised their insurance claim was valid after all. After seeing a vision of Mike, Cooper leaves in a limousine with a box of cherry pie. At the desert rendezvous site, the Mitchums plan to kill Dougie - but change their mind when Bradley’s prophetic dream comes true. Instead, the brothers take ‘Dougie’ to a diner to share champagne and pie.
